2017 New England School of Addiction Studies and Prevention Studies

New England State Specific:

Substance Use Disorders State Agencies Scholarship Information

A limited number of partial scholarships are offered by some of the New England State Alcohol and Drug Abuse Agencies to support the attendance at summer school by professionals from specific states.

  • Each state differs in the amount of scholarship offered and the process by which it is awarded.
  • Visit the links below to access a scholarship application.
  • Contact the state agency representatives listed below for scholarship questions.
  • Deadline for scholarship applications varies by state, and deadlines may be viewed below.
  • To assure consideration, it is advised that these requests be sent to the appropriate state agency as soon as possible.

IMPORTANT: The school application IS NOT a state scholarship application and the state scholarship application is NOT a school application. These are two separate forms that must be completed and sent to the appropriate agency. To be considered for a scholarship, you must complete your state scholarship application – see below for contacts, or contact the New England Institute.

If you apply for a scholarship and will NOT attend if you do not receive scholarship funding, select "Please withdraw if I do not receive a scholarship” on your New England School application form. Otherwise, you will be responsible for your balance due if you do not cancel your application.

NOTE: In order to reserve a spot at summer school, you must indicate how you will pay for your registration balance, and what to do if you do not receive a scholarship. Most scholarships pay only partial school tuition and payment of the balance is required of all applicants, including those seeking scholarship support.

CONNECTICUT - Please note that CT traditional state-funded partial scholarships are not available this year. There are a limited number of scholarships available for two very specific audiences from Connecticut:
Connecticut applicants who are currently: (1) Working towards certification or licensure as addiction counselors in Connecticut AND (2) Have NOT attended the NEIAS summer school previously:

New England ATTC CT Scholarships - Deadline Thursday, April 27, 2017: CT ATTC Scholarships applications have closed.

The New England Addiction Technology Transfer Center (ATTC-NE) in collaboration with the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) will provide a limited number of scholarship awards to Connecticut applicants who are currently working towards certification or licensure as addiction counselors and have not attended the NEIAS summer school previously. 

For people working or volunteering for CT faith-based entities addressing addiction, prevention, and recovery within their communities:

Connecticut Faith-Based 2017 Scholarships - Deadline Thursday, April 27, 2017:

Scholarship applicants must be employed by or serving as a volunteer with a faith-based entity located in Connecticut that has an interest in providing services focused on addressing the issue of addiction within their community. Click here for the CT Faith - Based scholarship application.

MA BSAS Counselor Recruitment Program Scholarships for MA College Students - Friday, April 28, 2017 Deadline. MA BSAS Counselor Recruitment Program Scholarship Applications have closed.

  1. A limited number of scholarships are available for Massachusetts college students who:
    • Are enrolled in a Certificate, Associate, Bachelors, or Masters level degree program, not yet committed to the Substance Use Disorder field;

    •  Possess a personal and occupational level of interest in the addictions field; and

    • Have less than two yeas of professional experience in the field.
